Our Organic Hawthorn Berry (Crataegus spp.) is a distinctive herbal infusion with a naturally deep colour and a pleasantly fruity, slightly tart flavour. The whole dried berries produce a smooth, rounded cup with subtle apple and red-fruit notes. Naturally caffeine-free, Hawthorn Berry can be enjoyed on its own or combined with other botanicals for a richer herbal blend.

Hawthorn has been enjoyed in traditional herbal tea preparations for generations and remains a popular botanical for loose-leaf herbal infusions. Our whole organic berries are carefully selected and dried to preserve their natural character, making them a versatile addition to the herbal tea cupboard. They pair particularly well with Hibiscus, Rose Hip and Lemon Balm, or can be brewed on their own for a full-bodied, fruit-forward cup.

Preparation

Because these are whole dried berries, lightly crush them before brewing to help release their flavour. Add 1–2 teaspoons of crushed Hawthorn Berry to a cup and pour over freshly boiled water. Cover and steep for 15–20 minutes, then strain thoroughly before serving. For a stronger infusion, the berries can be gently simmered in water before straining. Hawthorn Berry is delicious served warm and can also be prepared ahead and enjoyed chilled.
